KISMETA Analyst is.......

an essential data administration and repository building tool!

A data rationalization tool that crystallizes order from the chaos of legacy systems by creating a simple and easy to use index to all physical data. Our approach keeps it simple - and reconciles inconsistencies and creates a common data vocabulary. KISMETA makes data sharing possible, warehouse design feasible, and legacy systems documentation current. It's the ultimate metadata identification, classification, and management aid.

KISMETA Analyst Works by.....

classifying and indexing metadata according to a standard and business-intuitive scheme. Every step is designed to ensure that the task of categorizing and indexing will be done with sufficient consistency and thoroughness, and with adequate duplicability, to reduce complexity to clarity.

The KISMETA Analyst tool uses a variety of mechanisms to help automate rationalization.

Evidence Collected

what is the system/function/database (business purpose)?

what is the file/record (business purpose)?

what conceptual schema link (or assigned entity)?

what logical schema link (or forms/programs where it is used)?

is it key, or foreign key?

The menu illustrates the main steps in a KisMeta metadata analysis project:

1) Manage Models - Import a conceptual schema from tools such as IEF or Platinum repository

or customize a model.

2) Import metadata from repositories, data catalogs, or CASE tools

3)Process collected metadata through our analytic engine, which

will provide consistent candidate conceptual labels for all enterprise data.

4) Conduct additional specialized research and analysis.

5) once the index data looks good, build it to the

working repository

6) Conduct online research

7) Prepare special and routine
